Publications Ethics and Malpractice
Journal of Condensed Matter is committed to meeting and upholding the highest standards of ethical behaviour at all stages of the publication process and the content published. We follow closely and adhere to the principles of the industry associations, such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), that set standards and provide guidelines for best practices in order to meet these requirements. The journal also subscribes to its principles on how to deal with acts of misconduct thereby committing to investigate allegations of misconduct in order to ensure the integrity of research. The journal expects highest ethical standards from their authors, reviewers and editors when conducting research, submitting papers and throughout the peer-review process.
Conflict of Interest (CoI)
Journal of Condensed Matter has a Conflict of Interest policy in place. Any financial interests or connections, direct or indirect, or other situations that might raise the question of bias in the work reported or the conclusions, implications or opinions stated – including pertinent commercial or other sources of funding for the individual author(s) or for the associated department(s) or organization(s), personal relationships, or direct academic competition constitutes of a conflict of Interest (CoI). The corresponding author is expected to obtain the relevant information from all co-authors and get the copyright form (available from the journal home page) duly signed by all of them. At the point of submission, each author should reveal any financial interests or connections, direct or indirect, or other situations that might raise the question of bias in the work reported or the conclusions, implications, or opinions stated - including pertinent commercial or other sources of funding for the individual author(s) or for the associated department(s) or organization(s), personal relationships, or direct academic competition. It is responsibility of the corresponding author to confirm with co-authors whether they have any conflicts to declare. Such interests should be mentioned in the title page/covering letter of the manuscript. It is to be notes that as per our fair publication practices, all referees are either asked to decline to review a manuscript if they have a potential conflict or declare any potential conflict. All editors are bound to declare their potential Conflict of Interest as per the Editorial membership criteria. Editors would not handle the review of a manuscript if there was a potential Conflict of Interest, and instead, the manuscript would be passed on to another editorial member. In the event that any person encounters any conflict of interest, even after the manuscript is published, authors/representatives are requested to report the same at editor@worldscience.in. The concerned manuscript shall be duly investigated for the authenticity of the claims which can take up to seven (07) working days. If, during the investigations, the potential conflict of interest is found to be true, the manuscript shall be duly removed from the website, and deleted from the various repositories and abstracting/indexing services that we have subscribed. If the manuscript is accepted, Conflict of Interest information will be communicated in a published statement.
